Centurions guide Glo’shire O60s 4ths to ten wicket triumph

CENTURIONS Richard Graham and Keith Daniels shared a remarkable unbeaten partnership of 262 for Gloucestershire Over 60s 4th XI who romped to a ten-wicket victory over their Sussex counterparts at Birdlip.

The visitors made the most of winning the toss to post a challenging total of 261-5 from their 45, Daniels grabbing two late wickets.

But the target proved to be well within range for Gloucestershire who completed the win with more than 11 overs to spare, Graham (pictured right) finishing on 133 while Daniels scored 105.

Reaching three figures rounded off a memorable few days for Graham who came into the county side fresh from scoring an unbeaten 110 for Gloucester 3rds who he captained to a 155-run success away to Upton St Leonards.

And his county colleagues raised the banter levels by playfully informing Graham that he scored more runs in a week than he received votes in the recent general election after losing his seat as the Conservative MP for Gloucester!

Gloucestershire Over 60s 3rds, meanwhile, defeated Staffordshire by seven wickets, but the first XI went down by five wickets against Wiltshire at Corse & Staunton despite Steve Witcomb’s 67.

Gloucestershire Over 50s 2nds slipped up by 73 runs away to Oxfordshire while Pars Ghadiali’s unbeaten 86 from 104 proved to be in vain for the Over 50s 3rds in a three-wicket away reverse against Kent and Gloucestershire Over 70s lost a rain-hit friendly against Somerset at Stroud by eight wickets.
