Schools Days

Creating life ling memories for pupils and teachers where schools enjoy 'a day at the cricket'.

Every year, the GCF and the Gloucestershire County Cricket Club work together and invite Primary Schools to ‘Gloucestershire Cricket Schools Days’.

These events enable schools to sign up where they are able to come to day of professional cricket at either the Seat Unique Stadium, Bristol or the Cheltenham Festival. These events are a huge celebration where hundreds of children and teachers attend and enjoy a day at the cricket.

These days involve:

  • Free entry for children, teachers and support staff
  • Cricket activities including coaching
  • A workbook full of fun activities to help make the most of the day
  • A tour of the ‘Museum’ (this is for the Bristol matches)
  • Lunch time activity on the outfield
  • Q&A with players

Schools Days are a great way of introducing children to first class cricket in an informal and fun way while sharing the experience with their friends. This is not just about watching the game but instead taking your classroom to the cricket. The children will be encouraged to complete a workbook through the day which consolidates their learning while completing activities aligned with the National Curriculum levels.

Due to massive demand, these events will be first come, first served with a maximum of 15 schools per day. Each school can bring one class, there is a maximum of 30 children per school. It is acceptable to bring a whole class, which is just over this amount (31, 32). Once the 15 spaces for each day are booked online, they will show as full and you will not be able to book.

Schools are only permitted to book on to one date. We are trying to reach as many schools as possible so sharing the opportunity around is the fairest way.
