Performance

County, Zonal and Development programmes are the next stage in the player pathway after club cricket.

The Foundation, working alongside the Gloucestershire County Cricket Club, ensure there is a developmental pathway for any aspiring boy or girl from the age of 9. These pathways are developed for two main reasons:

N

To develop first class cricketers

N

To ensure the club game is structurally solid with a conveyor belt of talent coming through

Cricket Players (SVG)

County, Zonal and Development programmes are the next stage in the player pathway after club cricket.

In August and September of each year, trial days are provided so that county coaches can access the qualities of those nominated by their clubs.

These trial days enable coaches to then select players for either the boy’s Zonal or County Programmes, or the girl’s Development and County Programmes.

Winter Programmes, normally of at least 12 weeks in duration, are then supported by a comprehensive practice and match play programme from April through to September. For the top performing boys and girls the next step is the Emerging Players Programme and from that, either the GCCC Academy for the Boys or the Western Storm Academy for the Girls.
