CIRENCESTER defeated Bedminster and then holders Kingsholm to claim Gloucestershire’s Vitality U19 T20 Development in Association with Stuart Turner at Rockhampton.
Opener Aden Vaughan retired on 50 while Declan Rugg hit 31 as Ciren chased down a target of 139 against Bedminster for the loss of only four wickets and with eight balls to spare in the opening semi-final.
And the bowlers then took charge of the final against Kingsholm who were dismissed for 73 as Jasper Cleaver (3-13), Rugg (3-16) and Bengy Dodds (2-9) combined in devastating style.
Kingsholm made two early breakthroughs in the field before Harry Brownless (30 not) steadied the innings and saw Ciren to victory with almost four overs in hand.
Earlier, Kingsholm booked their place in the final with an 11-run victory over Carsons & Mangotsfield.
Attention now turns to the U19 T20 Performance finals day at the Seat Unique Stadium on September 4.
The action will begin at 10am with the first semi-final between Golden Hill and Cheltenham Chiefs, followed by a clash between holders Dumbleton and Bristol Afghans at around 1.15pm.
The final is scheduled for around 4.30pm and admission is free.
