CIRENCESTER are just two victories away from reaching the national finals of the ECB U13 Club T20!
The Gloucestershire champions travel to South Wilts CC on Wednesday (27th) for the South West regional finals where they face Wessex Warriors – a combination of players from Marlborough, Avebury and Wilcot.
And the winners will progress through to a final against Bath or Burridge for the right to represent the region in the national finals at Rugby School on August 9.
Ciren have had to show plenty of character to get this far, winning a total of seven matches which have included hitting the road for their last two games which both went down to the final over
There was a two-wicket win against Burghill, Tillington and Weobley, of Hereford, with just four balls to spare, Wilbur Hunter taking 3-6 and opener Willoughby Hall retiring on 33.
And there were only two balls left when Ciren trumped St Fagans, of Cardiff, by five wickets, Harry Phillips capturing 5-23 and Willoughby top scoring on 25 with captain Archie Hackett hitting 22.
The entire squad has contributed to Ciren’s superb run to the last 16 nationally, and the squad are now ready to do Gloucestershire proud at South Wilts!
