OPENERS Louis Sabbagh-Holt and Harry Brownless hit unbeaten half centuries as Cirencester made a winning start in the North Development group of the Marsh Commercial U16 T20.
The duo both retired on exactly 50 away to Bourton Vale while Jasper Cleaver followed up with an unbeaten 46 as Ciren powered their way to an impressive 185-1.
In reply, the home side were pegged back to 85-6, opener Aaron Hennessey top scoring on 24 and Evan Arthur hitting 22 as Aden Vaughan captured 3-16 from three overs.
Captain Tom King (32) and Jack Woodland (22) shone as Carsons & Mangotsfield edged Bradley Stoke by 21 runs in the South Development group.
Carsons had to work hard to reach 104-7, James Williams claiming 3-11 from three overs. But that total proved to be more than enough as a fine bowling effort saw Bradley Stoke dismissed for 83, Ollie Catton capturing 2-11.
Knowle stretched further clear at the top of the South Development group in the Vitality U19 T20 in partnership with Stuart Turner courtesy of an eight-run home victory against Golden Hill.
Mohammed Haris (50 retired) and opener Kaie Lawrence (38) dominated Knowle’s challenge of 159-5 before Golden Hill came up just short despite the efforts of Sam Hygate (46), Pat O’Regan (31) and Will Jones (25 not).
