EMILIA Powell and captain Bea Ellis were in fine form as Gloucestershire Girls U18s breezed past Wales by 101 runs in their latest ECB group match.
Opener Emilia top scored with 84 from 123 balls (ten fours) as her side reached 211-7 from their 40 at Llanelli, Isobel Patel hitting 30.
And in reply, Wales were in a good position at 77-4 before Bea introduced herself into the attack and had an immediate impact, producing a devastating spell of 5-13 from 6.2 overs to spark a collapse to 110 all out. Katie Dolman earlier captured 2-26 from four while Olivia Brock finished with 1-16 from five.
Gloucestershire Girls U13 Development squad, meanwhile, emerged 31-run victors in a friendly against Dorset at Clifton College.
Maud Avery (29) and captain Tilly Chicken (24) dominated the home side’s 18-over total of 108 all out before Dorset came up short with a reply of 77-5, Lilly Sheppard taking 2-14.
The two teams started a second friendly, Dorset progressing to 99-7 off 17 when play had to be called off because of the heat.
Gloucestershire Girls U11s battled hard before suffering two friendly defeats against Somerset U12s, the pick of the performances including Nayra Charlesworth’s spell of 3-20.
