SOPHIE Rayer showcased her fielding skills with a tremendous total of four direct run outs on a busy weekend of matches for Gloucestershire Girls’ U13 Development squad.
There were two ‘strikes’ for Sophie on Saturday when the county travelled to picturesque Prestcold – complete with protected tree inside the boundary! – for one T20 and one T15 against Berkshire, honours finishing even with one win and one defeat.
And Sophie was at it again the next day, against Golden Hill, with two more direct hits as Gloucestershire won the first T20 before rain forced play to be abandoned in the second clash.
Gloucestershire Girls U18s, meanwhile, went down to a four-run reverse away to Cornwall who totalled 103 all out after losing the toss.
There were two wickets apiece for Rachel Lepoidevin, J Sharp and Katie Dolman before Gloucestershire came up just short, Naomi Forecast top scoring on 25.
There was success though for Gloucestershire Girls U11s in a friendly away to Wiltshire who reached 87-6 after losing the toss.
Sophie Kale finished with terrific figures of 3-9 from two overs with Lilia Richards taking 2-12 from three before Gloucestershire completed the win.
