FROCESTER are through to the semi-finals of the Stuart Canvas Gloucestershire Cup after comfortably overcoming Bishopston by four wickets.
The Bristol side struggled to total 150 after losing the toss, Louis Sabbagh-Holt bagging 4-27 from eight, while Jeewaka Sashin then took charge of Frocester’s reply with 86.
Frocester’s reward is a home semi-final against Downend, on August 18, while the second semi sees Bristol host local rivals Bedminster on Sunday.
Gloucester AIW Sports, meanwhile, dispatched Downend 2nds by 123 runs to book their place in the Stuart Canvas Gloucestershire Trophy final.
Opener Muhammed Jabbar top scored on 93 and there was 59 from Uzair Salehbhai in AIW’s total of 295-5 ahead of Downend finishing well adrift against Shahrukh (3-29) and Shockat Veshmia (3-32).
AIW will now face Pak Bristolians in the final.
BRISTOL are through to the last eight of the ECB’s Vitality Club T20 Cup after two superb performances in a group final at Bridgwater.
Louie Shaw’s side opened up with a nine-wicket hammering of Exmouth, needing less than ten overs to reach a target of 128 thanks to explosive knocks from Sam Bracey (65 off 31) and Nic Halstead Cleak (58 not, off 26) after Will Rudge had earlier taken 4-21.
And Bristol followed up with a seven-wicket defeat of Penzance, Halstead Cleak (43) and Bracey (35) again playing key roles as a target of 140 was reached in the 16th over.
Bristol are one of four teams who will now progress to the South final at Basingstoke on August 25 with the winners taking on the North champions in September for the national title.
