GLOUCESTERSHIRE Girls U15s took part in a special 100-ball competition hosted at St Edward’s School, Oxford, winning two of their three matches.
First up was a clash against eventual winners Hampshire who kicked off with a 33-run success. Bethan Manning finished with 2-7 from 10 balls (six dots) while Prarthana Reddy’s figures were 0-8 from 10 (six dots) as Hampshire reached 122-3 before Gloucestershire came up short at 89-7, captain Taylor Hodgson (18) and Prarthana (17) the leading scorers.
Gloucestershire batted first in their next outing, against Middlesex, and totalled 111-6 with Jen Rivers (22) and Sophie Smith-Graham (17) leading the way.
Prarthana was again in fine form with the ball, claiming 4-15 from 20 (eight dots) while Bethan Manning (0-5 from ten), Grace Clargo (1-6 from ten), Jen and Sophie (both 0-4 from five) also helped keep the pressure on.
In their final game, Gloucestershire trumped Northamptonshire by six wickets. Jen (2-7 from 15), Prarthana (2-24 from 20), Ellie Donaldson (0-9 from ten), Lucy Thompson and Eliza Moore (both 1-5 from ten) pegged the opposition back to 89-7.
And Prarthana then rounded off her day to remember with an unbeaten 29, Bethan also hitting 22, to complete an excellent tournament for the squad.
It was a good day too for the Girls U15 Development squad who were two from two in back-to-back T20 friendlies away to Devon.
And Gloucestershire Girls U18s were 99-run home victors against Cornwall at Charlton Kings, Liv Daniels (50), Emilia Powell (43) and Bea Ellis (4-5 from 4.4) all playing starring roles.
