Gloucestershire Girls U15s extend their winning run in style

GLOUCESTERSHIRE Girls U15s made it three from three in their ECB Group with a fine 42-run home victory over Wales at Chipping Sodbury which featured a trio of outstanding individual performances.

Openers Ellie Donaldson (56) and Prarthana Reddy (54) shared an opening partnership of 118 as their side reached 165-4 from 40 overs after winning the toss.

And Emily Austen then produced a devastating burst of 5-14 from six overs as the Wales reply folded to 123 all out, Bethan Manning also taking 2-6.

Captain Imogen Davies (52), Megan Ahearne (40) and Bella Herring (38) helped Gloucestershire Girls U13s pile up 222-4 from their 35 overs in a friendly at home to Somerset at Wycliffe College.

And Olivia MacKenzie (3-6 from four) then led the charge with the ball as the visitors were dismissed for 88, Bella Herring (2-3) and Suri Shah (2-6) also proving difficult to handle.

It was a good day too for the U13 Development squad who trumped Wiltshire by 57 runs at Marshfield.

Lilly Sheppard (17 not) top scored in the visitors’ challenge of 111 before Wiltshire finished well short, Libby Frost capturing 4-8 while there were also two wickets apiece for Millie Downey, Sidney Hewlett and Bella Daniels.

Gloucestershire Girls U11s, meanwhile, beat Worcestershire by 105 runs in the first of two friendlies, opener Xanthre Bolam unbeaten on a fine 68 from 50 balls before Charvi Prabha Jeganth captured 3-3 from two overs.

The second game, though, went Worcestershire’s way by seven wickets, Flossie Parsons top scoring on 24 (retired).
