GLOUCESTERSHIRE Girls U18s made a perfect start to their ECB T20 county campaign with back-to-back wins against Cornwall and then Devon at Whimple, near Exeter.
First up, there was a 122-run triumph against Cornwall with Bea Ellis (47) and Liv Daniels (45 not) impressing before Isabel Richards captured 4-8 from four.
And Gloucestershire then had to battle for a seven-run victory against Devon which featured captain Isobel Patel’s patient 39 from 61 along with fine spells from Rachel Le Poidevin (2-8 from two), Jen Rivers (2-10), Liv (1-10) and Jemima Smith (1-12, all from four).
Devon, though, took revenge with a seven-wicket success at Cheltenham in the County One Day Championship after Gloucestershire struggled to total only 113.
The 15s, pictured above, made it four from four in their One Day group thanks to an excellent 56-run win away to Hampshire.
The visitors had to work hard for a total of 167, Maddie White top scoring on 32, ahead of Hampshire struggling against Abi Bryan (3-29 from six) and Emily Austen (2-6 from two).
Gloucestershire’s U15 Development squad enjoyed two friendly 20-over victories away to Devon which included a 41 from captain Amelia Funnell at the top of the order.
The U11s returned home with a record of three wins from four outings in a tournament at Rugby School.
After going down by eight runs against Northamptonshire, the squad overcame Oxfordshire, Warwickshire and Staffordshire with a highlight being Charvi Prabha Jeganath’s terrific spell of 3-5 from three against Warwickshire.
Verity Lilley, Bea Sprague and Isla Overy all finished with two wickets for the U13 Development squad in an 82-run win, also against Warwickshire.
