During a day which saw four clubs battle it out for GYCL glory, it was Great Rissington U15s and Knowle U13s who emerged victorious.
It started with REX Chiles, who was in terrific form with bat and ball for Great Rissington who held off Rockhampton by 76 runs to win the Gray-Nicolls Gloucestershire Youth Cricket League (GYCL) under-15 title play-off at Frocester.
Rex was second top scorer on 34, behind opener Luke Hope who hit 61, in their side’s challenge of 170, Adam Jackson capturing 3-10 from only 10 balls.
And Rex followed up with figures of 5-3 from 6.5 overs as Rockhampton were dismissed for 94, Luke Hope and Gabriel Green also taking two wickets apiece as opener Akshat Krishna top scored on 19.
It was also a day to remember for Knowle (above) who defeated Cheltenham by eight wickets in the GYCL under-13 championship play-off.
Opener Nirvaan Jain top scored with an unbeaten 50 in Cheltenham’s 111-7 off 35, Oscar Chudzikiewicz shining with a return of 3-15 from seven.
The Bristol side then took control with the bat through Callum Godfrey (33) and opener Oli Lavender (30) to seal victory in the 19th over.
