GLOUCESTERSHIRE Girls got their new ECB Under-18 Championship campaign off to a strong start with back-to-back wins, away to Wales and then at home to Berkshire.
Bea Willis was unbeaten on 56 from 55 as Gloucestershire chased down a target of 118 for an eight-wicket victory over Wales in Llanelli after Liv Daniels had earlier captured 4-16 from nine and Emily Austen 3-12 from 2.2.
And half centuries from opener Ellie Donaldson (60) and Sophie Smith-Graham (54) helped pave the way for Gloucestershire Girls U18s to complete a 51-run home victory at Shurdington over Berkshire.
The home side, who lost the toss, profited from an excellent stand of 147 between the pair to eventually total 266-8 from their 50.
And Berkshire then came up well short, Rachel Le Poidevin claiming 2-39 from ten while five other bowlers took wickets in a fine team effort as Gloucestershire moved top of their ECB group at this early stage of the campaign.
The Under-15 Development squad took on Somerset in a double header friendly at Knowle, succumbing by 53 runs first up before rallying to complete a four wicket triumph which featured fine bowling efforts from Darcey McShane (4-14 from four) and Eva Ewers (2-7 from three).
Captain Lottie Compton, meanwhile, top scored with 60 (retired) for the Under-13 Development squad who breezed past Warwickshire by 138 runs at Hawkesbury Upton, Frankie Halliday capturing 4-11 from two.
