BRISTOL will host Frocester on Sunday in the delayed 2024 final of the Gloucestershire County Cup (1pm).
The sides have already met this season, with Frocester securing an exciting 12-run home win last weekend in WEPL Premier One when Bristol’s last three wickets went down for only one run.
JOHN Colley produced a fine display with bat and ball as Golden Hill trumped Hatherley & Reddings by 66 runs to reach the group semi-finals in the ECB National Club Championship.
The all-rounder turbocharged the back end of his side’s innings with an unbeaten 60 off 35 (six fours, three sixes) to ensure a total of 216-9 from 40.
And he followed up with a return of 4-11 from 4.2 overs as Hatherley were dismissed for 127 chasing a revised target of 194 after a short delay for rain.
Next up for Golden Hill is a home Group Ten tie against Usk who edged Bath by 15 runs at North Parade.
In Group Nine, Bristol quickly put aside a disappointing close league defeat the previous day to edge St Cross Symondians by one wicket with two balls in hand.
Josh Dinan was the pick of the visitors’ attack with a haul of 4-42 as Saints reached 258-9 after winning the toss.
Jake Carstens’ breezy 78 from 59 and 43 from Dinan kept Bristol in the chase before Miles Kantolinna’s unbeaten 25 helped see his side through to a pool semi-final away to Potterne, comfortable seven wicket conquerors of Old Tauntonians & Romsey.
Bishopston, meanwhile, will have home advantage in a semi-final against Bridgwater following their five-wicket win away to Bashley.
The wickets were shared around as the home side struggled to total 125 ahead of Tristan Jungbauer (41) and skipper Dave O’Brien (39 not) getting Bish over the line.
Bridgwater were seven-wicket home victors against Burbage & Easton Royal, Cam Harding hitting 100 and Somerset’s Will Smeed an unbeaten 79.
LANGFORD eased into the Oxfordshire group semi-finals of the Voneus Village Cup thanks to an 11-run home triumph against Cumnor.
Captain Liam Court’s 53 was the top scorer in a challenge of 182-9 ahead of Cumnor coming up short, ensuring a home tie against Horspath on May 25.
Elsewhere, there was a flurry of walkovers with Dumbleton going through in the Worcestershire group when Bretforton withdrew, and it was the same story for Aston Ingham in Herefordshire & Powys where Brockhampton conceded.
There were a further four walkovers in Gloucestershire, ensuring free passage for Bourton Vale, Marshfield, Painswick and Rockhampton.
In Somerset & Avon, Stapleton also conceded their game against Timsbury.
KNOWLE edged Downend by just one run in the delayed 2024 final of the Bristol Midweek T20 League.
Dale Ellis (63) and Krish Kumar (53) shome in Knowle’s total of 167-6 after losing the toss, Ollie Louch grabbing 3-32 from four.
And Louch then plundered 33 from only 12 balls (three fours, two sixes) as Downend came up just short after Cyrus Shafi had earlier top scored on 35.
