Thanks to the support of the ACE Programme Charity, ECB and The Royal London, we are delighted to advertise for an ACE Development Officer. This is an exciting new role and opportunity to join our team and to take cricket to more people across the City of Bristol.
- Full Time – 2 year initial contract
- Salary: £21,000 to £24,000 plus benefits
- Closing date: Sunday 4th July
- Interviews: Week of 12th July
Never has there been a better time to work in the game and provide cricket to as diverse an audience as possible. In the new ECB Strategy, Inspiring Generations, ‘Make Cricket Accessible’ and ‘Support our Communities’ have been identified as two of the six priorities and it is now the time for us to deliver on these ambitions.
In Gloucestershire we have a solid base in which to build from but there is still so much more that can be achieved and for this we are looking to appoint an outstanding individual to drive growth and to support diverse talent from the grassroots to the elite. This opportunity comes as a consequence of the ACE Programme Charity awarding Gloucestershire (Bristol) an initial two year programme; aimed at engaging with, and developing, talent from the African and Caribbean communities.
The newly recruited Development Officer will have an exciting opportunity to introduce and drive aspects of the new ‘Inspiring Gloucestershire’ strategy. Specifically, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following areas of the game:
- Develop a strategy for Bristol which actively engages with diverse communities
- Increase the number of opportunities to participate in cricket in Bristol
- Improve and further develop community engagement programmes which both use cricket and local cricket assets to improve the lives and well-being of many in urban communities
- Actively engage with diverse communities that represent the true make-up of the region we represent
The GCB seeks to employ a highly motivated and competent Development Officer that will work within the Cricket Development team. You will need to be passionate about, and committed to, the development of the game and in particular, bringing cricket to diverse communities. Part of the role’s focus will be working with traditional cricket partners, such as clubs and schools, however we would also expect the role to investigate new markets and partners to help drive participation to new audiences. With that in mind we are seeking an innovative individual who will bring enthusiasm and fresh ideas.
Candidates must demonstrate both team working skills and the ability to work unsupervised using their own initiative. You will be a self-starter with energy and enthusiasm together with good administration and organisational skills. Equally you will be an excellent communicator with a passion for the development of cricket/sport for young people.
