Round-up of all the latest U16 and U19 Blast action

GEORGE Fowler finished with tremendous figures of 4-5 from 2.4 overs as Twyford House claimed a thrilling three-run home win over Golden Hill in the latest round of matches in the Vitality U19 T20 in partnership with Stuart Turner.

The home side, who lost the toss, recovered from an unpromising 18-3 to eventually total 120 all out thanks to key mid-order innings from Henry Trotman (28), Alex Wilson (26) and Deago Bailey (21).

Leading bowlers for Golden Hill were Max Pinder (2-9 from two) and Dan Broome (2-19 from four) while Ruben Shehean bagged 1-14 from his four.

Golden Hill were given a strong start by Ollie Meadows (35) and Theo Parrett (15), and although wickets began to tumble, captain Cyrus Shafi (46) kept his side in the chase.

Fowler, though, held his nerve in an exciting finale with Trotman and Johnny Groves also taking two wickets apiece to ensure their side finished top of the Southern Performance division.

Golden Hill had earlier defeated Winterbourne by 17 runs, Shehean (50 retired) and Shafi (45) shining with the bat before Sam Brooks claimed two stumpings in the home win.

In the Marsh Commercial U16 T20, Bradley Stoke chased down a target of 144 at home to Carsons & Mangotsfield in the South Development division.

Tom King (51 retired) helped power the visitors to 143-1, Ollie Clatworthy (29 not) and Hugo Bradbury (28) also finding form.

Ben Rivers (50 retired) then led the Bradley Stoke reply despite Daisy Bradbury taking 2-17 to help his side over the line with three wickets in hand and five balls to spare.
