THE SEAT Unique Stadium is to once again play host to the finals day of Gloucestershire Cricket Foundation’s Vitality U19 T20 in association with Stuart Turner.
Bristol Afhgans have qualified for the first semi-final against champions Dumbleton on September 4 while the second play off will then follow between Golden Hill and Cheltenham before the two winning sides face off for the silverware.
Bristol Afghans, taking part in the popular tournament for the first time, ensured their passage with a six-wicket home victory against Bristol, Raza Khan capturing 3-9 from four while opener Abu Baker retired on 50.
The U19 Development final will be staged at Rockhampton on August 21. Kingsholm and Cirencester have already qualified from the North Division while teams in the South Division are still battling to book their places.
The finals day of the GCF’s Marsh Commercial U16 T20, meanwhile, will take place at Stroud on adjacent pitches on August 14.
Three of the four qualifiers in the Development competition have been confirmed with Kingsholm, Frampton-on-Severn and Golden Hill going through.
Golden Hill were pushed on all the way in their latest match, defeating Frenchay by four wickets off the final ball of a thrilling encounter.
There were three wickets apiece for Nicholas Pestell and Edward Bourdeaux as Frenchay totalled 100-9 before Golden Hill sealed the spoils, captain Henry Taubman top scoring on 32.
The finalists in the Performance competition will be decided shortly.
