RICHARD Trotman smashed an unbeaten 110 to propel Gloucestershire Over 50s to a seven-wicket victory over Warwickshire at Rockhampton to make it two from two in the ECB County Championship.
The visitors struggled to 193 all out after winning the toss, Pars Ghadiali finishing with 4-36 from nine while there were also two wickets apiece for skipper Razi Ahmed and Sam Gunaratne.
And Twyford House’s Trotman, soon to captain England Over 50s in an international against the United States, then led the victory charge, hitting 11 fours and six sixes off 101 balls.
Gloucestershire O50s 2nds extended their unbeaten run to three outings with a three-wicket triumph away to Dorset, Alastair Smith taking 3-32 from nine before Steve Jones (51) and Mike Gray (29) rescued the reply with an unbroken stand of 81.
The O50s 3rds, though, slipped up by six wickets at home to Oxfordshire at Kingsholm despite Dave Carter’s 66 and 65 from Andrew Bolton.
Gloucestershire O60s 2nds secured an excellent four-run triumph away to their Oxfordshire counterparts, Steve Witcomb holding his side’s innings together with a battling unbeaten 79 before the bowling attack got to work led by Steve Pennington (2-31) while John Turton’s nine overs cost only 11 runs.
The O60s 3rds, meanwhile, were seven wicket victors at Stowell Park over Oxfordshire, Peter Storey taking 4-37 while Neil Martin (50) and Phil Edge (47) shared a crucial unbroken partnership.
Gloucestershire O70s emerged nine-wicket winners away to Wiltshire who were pegged back to 124-9 by Tony Garton (3-18) and Graham Clarke (2-14, both from eight).
John Evans (72 not) then ensured the visitors cruised to the spoils, striking 14 boundaries.
