OPENER Babar Parvais blasted 153 off only 123 balls to lay the foundations for Pak Bristolians to maintain their unbeaten start to the summer with a 120-run victory at Claverham in the Senior Division of the Martin Berrill Bristol & District League.
The next highest score was extras on 28 as Parvais took charge with 19 fours and two sixes to lift his side to 290-9.
And it proved to be more than enough as Claverham came up short despite Dom Hooper’s 70, Qasir Abass claiming 3-36 from his nine.
Another opener in good nick was Tom Laver whose unbeaten 120 took Bradley Stoke to a comfortable seven-wicket victory away to Keynsham 2nds.
Requiring 205, Laver dominated his side’s reply, striking nine fours and two sixes to complete the win.
Ian Fiebelkorn earlier hit 82 for Keynsham as Marcus Thatcher took 4-25 from nine while there were also three wickets for Dan Laver.
Leaders Bedminster 2nds eased past Frenchay by eight wickets, James Carter claiming 4-30 from nine before Rob Cunliffe and Tom Pugsley took centre stage with unbeaten 50s.
It was closer at Coalpit Heath who completed their first win of the summer – a last over one-wicket home triumph against Timsbury.
Khalid Ali (4-16 from nine) and Jack Williams (3-18 from 8.2) restricted Timsbury to 163 while Heath then appeared to be cruising at 131-3 but a flurry of wickets meant much rested on Dafydd Nicholas who struck the winning boundary with three balls in hand to finish on 41.
Rueben Shehan’s 112 put Hanham on course for a four-wicket victory away to Bristol Pakistanis in Division One.
And Mitch Vardy’s spell of 5-21 could not save Hambrook from a three-run reverse at Failand & Portbury in Division Three. It was just as tight at Frampton Cotterell where Pakistani Express eased in by five runs, Shahwaiz Hassan thumping 88.
