Week Four Gloucestershire Cricket League review

ADEKO Collymore is averaging a remarkable 450 for Bibury after compiling his third unbeaten century in four Gloucestershire League innings for the village club.

The opener took centre stage in this latest Division Six B clash as his side reached 320-6 after losing the toss at Oldlands, thumping 17 fours and five sixes in a tremendous innings of 167.

Collymore has been in fine form from the start of the summer, smoking 135 against Oakridge and following it up with 131 against Rockhampton 3rds before he was dismissed for only 17 by Eastcombe.

But he was back to his best at Oldlands who, in reply, slipped to 106 all out, Adrian Seakins grabbing 4-11.

There were two big centurions in Division Seven B. Chris Gilchrist hammered 163 off 95 (12 fours, 13 sixes) for Swindon United Churches who dispatched Charfield by 103 runs, and captain Dan Blackwell’s 152 for Hawkesbury Upton 2nds featured 16 fours and seven sixes, paving the way for a 115-run triumph over Slimbridge.

Opener Jack Cowles, meanwhile, led Newent to an eight-wicket home win in Division Three with an unbeaten 144 (20 fours, five sixes)against  Bourton Vale 2nds, while Ade Stenner’s 103 (115 balls, 15 fours) helped Woodmancote hold off Chipping Sodbury 2nds by ten runs.

In Division Eight A, Rokhan Khan’s 142 paved the way for Gloucester 3rds to overcome Ashleworth Woodpeckers by 155 runs.

And in Division Seven A, Tim Dulson plundered 135 from 119 (17 fours, six sixes) as Aston Ingham 2nds held off their Woodmancote counterparts by 15 runs.

Conditions were also to the liking of opener Freddie Clark whose 129 from 122 (21 fours, one six) for Cirencester 3rds set up a home Division Nine D derby win against Cricklade 2nds.

Proving that the batters did not have it all their own way, Heath Stillion captured 6-32 from eight for Buscot Park 2nds who edged Charlton by two wickets, also in Division Nine D.

And in Nine C, Sunith Fernando produced one of the spells of the day to claim 6-14 from eight for Andoversford 2nds who edged Corse & Staunton 3rds by 67 runs.

In Division One, opener Louis Warren compiled 113 off 114 (17 fours) for Rockhampton who trumped Kingsholm by six wickets while leaders Corse & Staunton marched on with a six wicket triumph away to Cheltenham 2nds, Ed Goolden (71) and captain Tim Dannatt (66) sharing an opening stand of 131.

Dumbleton 2nds made it four from four at the top of Division Two, trumping Ullenwood Bharat by two wickets .

And Charlton Kings 2nds also boast a 100 per cent record in Division Four after overcoming Whitminster by four wickets.
