Recognise

Safeguarding isn’t just the responsibility of the Club Safeguarding Officer; everyone should be able to recognise a concern and report it.

The Safeguarding Level 1 course is suitable for all club members to complete, helping them create a safe cricket environment for everyone.

The Safeguarding Level 2 is a must for all Club Safeguarding Officers and Coaches.

What happens now?

  1. Once the report is received, it is reviewed, and the GCF Safeguarding Team determine whether it is a safeguarding concern, discrimination or discipline.
  2. If it is classed as Safeguarding, it will be determined if it is a low-level concern, or whether it reaches the threshold for the ECB Cricket Regulator to manage the case.
  3. The report will then be assigned to the correct member of GCF staff to manage any required investigation.
  4. All concerns received are logged on the central Cricket Regulator reporting system.
  5. GCF will ensure that those involved are properly supported throughout the process.
  6. Once the investigation is complete, actions will be agreed upon between GCF and the other parties (e.g. Club Safeguarding Officer)
  7. GCF will support to ensure all required actions are carried out.
