As you saw, structuring the course with a good length practical session was really critical for our players, for whom listening to English for a lengthy period tends to get very tiring. But as you saw, they came totally alive again as soon as they got bat and ball in hand.
I do think it is such a sensible way of teaching this material.
Also I was very happy to see you begin the LBW session by getting everyone to bowl at the stumps, so they get a feeling for how rarely the ball is likely to be hitting.
My players came away happy and feeling that they had learned a lot. One of them has been expressing interest in becoming an umpire as a career, and after today is still interested and wants to continue doing as much training as is available.
I was delighted also to see how well attended the training was, and that everyone seems to have enjoyed the day and learned a lot.
