HAWKESBURY Upton is to host the annual match between the Bristol & District and Gloucestershire leagues when the GCF Trophy will again be at stake on Saturday September 12.
Gloucestershire retained the silverware following a 32-run success last season at Coalpit Heath which made the overall score 2-2 since the inception of the challenge which celebrates club cricket across the county.
Lydney’s Jack O’Connell has been named captain of the Gloucestershire league side which features players from eight clubs, lncluding brothers Chris and James Job from Tetbury who have clinched promotion to WEPL for the first time in their club’s history.
Gloucestershire also call up Kingsholm skipper Luke Bond who has enjoyed a remarkable summer with the ball.
The seamer claimed 10-34 against Westbury-on-Severn in June, and has also finished with seven-wicket hauls on two occasions in a campaign to remember.
Bristol, meanwhile, will again be led by Claverham opener/wicketkeeper James Copeland with the side including club mate and all-rounder Lloyd Richardson.
Winterbourne, who are pressing for a return to WEPL, are represented by captain Ben Parker while Pak Bristolians, who are also in the promotion mix, provide Abdullah Tabraiz and Waqas Ahmad.
The match will get underway at 1pm.
