Ben Lord hit the last ball of the game for four to earn Charlton Kings a dramatic tie with Chipping Campden in the Gloucestershire Division of the West of England Premier League.
Lord, batting at 10, finished unbeaten on 56 from 46 balls as his side closed on 255-9. He arrived at the wicket in the 36th over with his side on 162 and shared a ninth-wicket partnership of 60 with Craig Collinson (47) before Karan Sharma kept him excellent company for the last four overs. At one stage Charlton Kings had been 20-4. Josh Tamcken took 3-31 for Chipping Campden while Dylan McAteer collected 3-48. Earlier, Chipping Campden’s 255-9 had been built around Matt Andrews’ 93, while skipper Josh Colwell made an unbeaten 58.
James Dallaway hit an unbeaten 107 in Corse & Staunton’s eight-wicket win over Langford, who were dismissed for 211 in the 47th over. Callum King picked up 3-30 for Corse & Staunton.
Unbeaten leaders Bourton Vale took another step towards the title as they beat Gloucester by 236 runs. Lysander Tarrant (103) and Mark Whitney (88) put on 217 for the second wicket in Bourton’s 297-4 before Gloucester were skittled inside 23 overs. Max Shepherd (4-7), Matthew Rose (3-23) and William Faulkner (3-23) shared the wickets.
Bristol opening bat Louie Shaw was last man out for 102 in his side’s 203 all out against Frocester in Premier One. He was one of five players to fall to Gloucestershire spinner Ed Middleton, who picked up his wickets for 32 before Frocester knocked off the runs with five wickets and more than four overs to spare.
Uzi Qureshi was unbeaten on 57 as Frocester climbed into the top three, 13 points behind leaders Dumbleton, who won by six wickets against Midsomer Norton.
Midsomer Norton were dismissed for 159 with George Garratt taking 3-36 and new-ball bowler Ross Martin picking up 3-53. Opener Lewis Rolliinson, who is enjoying a good season, then made an unbeaten 69 as Dumbleton, who are 10 points clear of Bridgwater with four games to play, eased to victory with 15 overs remaining.
Matthew Jackson snapped up 6-21 as Downend bowled out Weston-super-Mare for 109 in 17.5 overs in Premier Two Bristol/Somerset. Downend then rushed to an eight-wicket victory in 15.2 overs with skipper Jordan Garrett making an unbeaten 50 from 37 balls.
Golden Hill enjoyed a seven-wicket win over Taunton St Andrews after chasing down 251-9. Jacob Stevenson picked up 3-58 before an unbroken 154-run partnership between Harawal Wassam (106) and Ahmed Syed (67) eased their side to victory with more than five overs remaining.
Stan Brown smashed 70 from 45 balls to propel Cheltenham to 255-5 and an 88-run win over Chipping Sodbury in Premier 2 Glos/Wilts. Skipper James Boyle then took 3-22 as Chipping Sodbury were bowled out with four balls of their 50 overs remaining.
Hatherley and Reddings raced to a 10-wicket win over Purton, who were skittled for 130 in 30.4 overs after winning the toss. Vihanga Kottawasinhage took 4-27, and Harry Bloomfield picked up 3-35 before Harry Arthur (69 from 39 balls) and Noah Bennett (51) knocked off the runs in 14.1 overs.
Skipper David O’Brien took 4-41 before making 53 as Bristol & North Somerset leaders Bishopston eased to a six-wicket win over Bath 2nds, who made 183-8.
O’Brien shared in a third-wicket partnership of 108 with the in-form Saurabh Rawat (70) as their side clinched victory at the end of the 39th over.
Downend 2nds lost 10 wickets for 44 as they were bowled out for 94 in 28 overs by Bristol West Indian Phoenix. Vipul Patel claimed 4-17 before his side surged to an eight-wicket win in 11.2 overs.
Opener Madushan Ravichandrakumar hit 124 from 93 balls as Frenchay made 315 against Brislington. Tyrone Isitt contributed 50 to the total, which was 110 too many for Brislington despite Cameron George’s 72. Ravichandrakumar followed up his batting heroics by taking 4-47 while Don Kulathungage chipped in with 3-11. Earlier, Ethan Maule claimed 3-49 for Brislington while Arthur Harman picked up 3-69.
