Dumbleton bidding for fourth straight U16 T20 title

PLAYERS and officials are keeping fingers crossed on the weather so the GCF’s Under-16 T20 finals day can proceed as scheduled on Sunday at Chipping Sodbury.

The Performance tournament takes place on the main pitch with the first semi-final between Golden Hill and Hatherley & Reddings at 10am.

This will be followed by Dumbleton – bidding for a fourth successive title – taking on Rockhampton at around 1.15pm, with the final straight after.

On an adjacent pitch, meanwhile, the Development tournament also gets underway at 10am with Bourton Vale facing Frenchay before Carsons & Mangotsfield meet Charlton Kings, again with the final to follow.

The weather, to the great disappointment of everyone involved, curtailed the U19 finals day at Brislington.

New dates are now being organised for the Performance semi-final between Dumbleton and Rockhampton, with the winner going on to face Painswick.

And new arrangements are also being made to stage the Development final, between Frenchay and Carsons & Mangotsfield.

THE Stuart Canvas Gloucestershire Cup continues on Sunday with a semi-final between Twyford House and Bishopston.

The rearranged second semi, between Bristol West Indian Phoenix and holders Bedminster, has been scheduled for Monday with the final at the Seat Unique Stadium on Sunday September 3.
