Leckhampton & Mangotsfield triumph in Dynamos County Finals Day 2025

On Friday, June 20th, Cheltenham College hosted Gloucestershire schools’ finals day. In glorious sunshine and a picturesque location, the competition was played in great spirit.

After battling through the round-robin group stage and a semi-final, it was Leckhampton that prevailed in the open competition against Holy Apostles—the final ebbed and flowed, with a constant flow of wickets changing the equation.

Ultimately, it was the team in green, Leckhampton, that managed to come out on top and claim the title for the second year in a row.

In the girls’ competition, the final was played between Warden Hill and Mangotsfield in the shadow of the pavilion. Both teams played brilliantly throughout, with Mangotsfield coming out on top to win the final.

In warm conditions, but without the oppressive heat of the previous day, 8 girls’ sides and 11 sides in the open competition made their way to Cheltenham to compete for the title. All the teams that made it to finals day had previously been victorious in the regional competitions to earn their place.

On the day, the schools were split into two groups, where they each played all the other sides to decide who qualified for the semi-finals. Throughout, the games were played with great camaraderie, and the regular cheers for the opposition were fantastic to see.

Thanks to Cheltenham College for being gracious hosts and allowing to children to play at such a prestigious venue.
