Gloucestershire Girls U18s continue winning start

GLOUCESTERSHIRE Girls U18s made it two from two with a comfortable six-wicket home win at Hatherley & Reddings over Wales in their latest County One Day group match.

Jen Rivers and Liv Daniels both finished with fine figures of 3-21, with Rachel Le Poidevin claiming 2-18, as Wales were bowled out for 98.

And Gloucestershire eased to their target with solid contributions from a number of batters, led by opener Beatrix Willis (19), Liv (18 not), Anmol Krishna (17) and Lucy Thompson (15 not).

Next up is a home clash at Brislington on Thursday July 6 against local rivals Somerset (11am).

Gloucestershire Women, meanwhile, went down to a two-wicket defeat at Taunton in a friendly against Somerset.

Chloe Skelton dominated the visitors’ innings with a terrific 90 from 118 (12 fours) with Fran Wilson (23) the next highest scorer in a total of 186.

Sophie Luff (88 not) then played a similar role for Somerset to foil Bhoomika Bhat (2-29) and Mollie Robbins (2-43).

The U11 Development squad battled hard in two friendly defeats away to Oxfordshire while Gloucestershire U15s returned home from the St Edward’s 100 Festival with two wins from three outings.

Sophie Smith-Graham (3-21 from 20), Sophie Murray (2-0 from nine) and Bella Herring (2-3 from ten) shone in a 23-run reverse against Oxfordshire.

Bella then top scored with 30 in a 12-run success against Hampshire Women, Jen Rivers taking a superb 2-6 from 20.

And the day ended with a four-wicket success over Hampshire U15s with Maddie White (3-17 from 19), Sidney Hewlett (2-4 from ten) and Indie-Rose Murray (2-13 from 15) shining ahead of Bella (34) and Sophie Murray (27 not) taking charge.
