Help us improve lives as we Race Across Gloucestershire

Race Across Glos

Every day, the Gloucestershire Cricket Foundation uses the power of cricket to bring people together, improve wellbeing, tackle isolation and create opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds across our county.

Our work is as wide-ranging as it is life changing. As demand for our programmes continues to grow, so does our ambition to reach even more communities and ensure nobody misses out on the benefits that cricket can provide.

That is why Team GCF is taking on Race Across Glos on Friday 17 July 2026.

Our challenge? An 87 mile relay across Gloucestershire, navigating 22 checkpoints in just 13 hours. Along the way, we will be showcasing the people, projects and communities that your support helps to transform.

Together, we aim to raise £6,000, with members of Team GCF committing to raising at least £250, but we cannot do it alone.

GCF needs you

The success of Race Across Glos depends on the generosity of people who believe in stronger communities, better opportunities and brighter futures.

Whether you are making a personal donation or sponsoring a leg of the challenge through your business, your support will directly help us continue improving lives through the power of cricket.

From helping local cricket clubs become safe, welcoming hubs for their communities, to developing programmes that combat loneliness and improve physical and mental wellbeing, our impact reaches thousands of people every year.

Your support helps us:

  • Give older adults a reason to get active, socialise and reconnect through Walking Cricket.
  • Create opportunities for people with disabilities to build confidence, friendships and a genuine sense of belonging.
  • Deliver free community cricket sessions for young people who may otherwise never have the chance to play sport.
  • Develop coaches, volunteers and clubs that keep cricket thriving in communities across Gloucestershire.
  • Inspire more girls and boys to pick up a bat and ball, discover a lifelong passion, and realise their potential.

As one of the country’s leading County Cricket Foundations, we are reaching more people than ever before, but with growing demand comes a greater need for support.

Every pound donated helps us extend our reach and deepen our impact.

The difference you make

“Since my wife died, I have found socialising difficult. Walking Cricket has been a lifeline for me, giving me a reason to leave the house and be sociable again. I don’t think I’d still be here if it wasn’t for Walking Cricket and the people I’ve met.”

“As you get older, there’s more exams and stuff and you have to be able to believe in yourself. Cricket helps me with my mental health, and it really helps me with my self-esteem. It’s helped me believe in myself, which I think is a really important thing, especially when I’m leading people. Cricket has really helped me get to that place. If I didn’t play cricket, I wouldn’t be who I am today.”

“All his life, and probably going into adulthood, he will need support. But at cricket, generally he supports everybody around him. Imagine being somewhere where you’re the one able to help somebody else. It means so much to him to have that opportunity to shine, and for us as parents to see that. I am indebted to you for giving that to my child.”
