Holders Dumbleton cruise through in Voneus Village Cup

CHAMPIONS Dumbleton moved into the Worcestershire final of the Voneus Village Cup with a 152-run-victory away to Quatt.

An opening stand of 128 between Ross Martin (71) and Finn Brabham (57) put the visitors on their way to a challenge of 270-5 ahead of Quatt being dismissed for 118, Ross Martin claiming 3-17 from six.

Dumbleton will now be home to Astwood Bank on June 4.

In Gloucestershire, Marshfield overcame centenary-celebrating Kingsholm by seven wickets, with their reward being a home Gloucestershire final against Painswick who had a walk-over against Apperley.

Aston Ingham are out of the Herefordshire & Powys pool after a tense two-run reverse at Colwall.

SUNDAY is a hectic day of WEPL T20 action in Gloucestershire.

Hatherley & Reddings will host Frocester and Tewkesbury in a triangular for a place in the next round of a competition which will eventually produce a qualifier for the first national round of the ECB National Club Twenty20.

Painswick host Cheltenham and Gloucester on the same day, along with Charlton Kings entertaining Cirencester and Stroud.

Thornbury, meanwhile, travel to Weston-super-Mare where they will also face Congresbury.

Already through to the next stage are Bristol along with Golden Hill who defeated Bishopston last weekend.

Keynsham withdrew from the Group Nine qualifier, making the Bish-Golden Hill clash a straight play-off.

And Golden Hill piled up a tremendous 205-6 after losing the toss thanks to the clean hitting of Muhammad Irfan Khan (67 from 34), Josh Beal (55 from 28) and captain Daz Ahmed (46 from 31).

Dan Broome (3-22) then put Golden Hill on course for a 56-run success, Cyrus Shafi (2-15) and Toheed Hamid (2-27, all from four) combining to turn the screw.
