GLOUCESTERSHIRE over 60s (pictured) continued their perfect start to the season, making it four from four with an excellent 28-run victory away to Wales in Gorseinon.
The visitors made the most of losing the toss, piling up 277-8 from their 45 with captain Ian Robson (64) and Rob Austen (42) setting the tone with an opening stand of 107 ahead of James Cotterill hammering 81 from 75.
John Jones held the Welsh reply together with a century before falling victim to Nic Hayward (3-37) while there were also three wickets for Razi Ahmed as Gloucestershire closed out the win.
It was a good day too for the 60s 2nds who trumped their Worcestershire counterparts by six wickets, Paul Silvester bagging 3-31 before Kim Parsley compiled an unbeaten 54.
But the 60s 3rds went down by 54 runs away to Wales despite the efforts of opener Neil Wilson (82) and Peter Whyard (67 not).
Gloucestershire Over 70s recorded their second success of the summer, trumping Devon by 59 runs at Chipping Sodbury.
Opener Keith Daniels (80) and John Evans (73) shared a stand of 121 before Graham Clarke took 3-44 and John Turton produced another polished spell, finishing with 1-18 from eight.
The 70s 2nds, meanwhile, saw off Hertfordshire by six wickets at Stowell Park, Ken Whitmore (4-34) the pick of the attack before opener Tom Parsons weighed in with an unbeaten 56.
Gloucestershire Over 50s were disappointed to finish 32 runs short away to Wales despite 101 from captain Richard Trotman who earlier claimed 3-55.
The 50s 3rds, though, emerged 51-run home victors over Wales at Stroud where Steve Davies (104) and opener Steve Williams (102) shared a memorable unbroken fourth wicket stand of 190.
Davies faced 85 balls, striking 14 fours, while Williams’ innings came off 102 and included seven boundaries.
The 50s 4ths, also playing at Stroud, were unable to complete the double as they succumbed by nine wickets against Wales.
