NABEEL Ahmad marked his first appearance of the summer for Winterbourne with a fine all-round display to help clinch a 113-run home victory over local rivals Coalpit Heath in the Senior Division of the Martin Berrill Sports Bristol & District League.
The opener top scored with a blistering 83 from 63 (12 fours, four sixes) in an imposing challenge of 303-8 after winning the toss, and followed up with a return of 2-34 from nine as the visitors were pegged back to 190-8, Euan Rixson claiming 3-19 from eight.
Downend 2nds saw off Cleeve by 66 runs, Dave Bromley (93), Ben Ford (78) and Matt Curtis (57) leading the charge before Mohamed Jezuli captured5-37 from six.
In Division Two, James Hutchings (86) and Jack Richards (5-47) shone for Bristol 3rds in their 92-run home Division Two triumph over Frampton Cotterell, and Old Down eased past Winterbourne 2nds by nine wickets, Jon Pullin finishing with 3-6 from two.
Opener Ed Denman crashed125 off 99 (19 fours and a six) for Bishopston 3rds who overcame their Frenchay counterparts by 123 runs in Division Seven North.
In Eight West, opener Rupesh Narayanan smashed 121 off 103 (17 fours) and added 168 for the second wicket with Thiliban Chandru (97) for Tamil Nadu who overcame University Staff 2nds by 149 runs.
And in Division Nine East, Rehan Islam hit an unbeaten 118 from 87 (eight fours, seven sixes) for Bristol Aces 2nds whose total of 271-5 was chased down by their Bristol New Eleven counterparts for a one-wicket win, Akshaykumar Thuruthukandathil Suresh shining with an unbeaten 98 off 73 (12 fours, five sixes).
Opener Ajay Yadav batted all 40 overs for an unbeaten 117, paving the way for Patchway 2nds to defeat Frampton Cotterell 3rds by 102 runs in Division Nine West.
In Division Four, Muhammad Saim compiled 114 off 82 (ten fours, seven sixes) as Bristol Aces reached 318-7 away to Pucklechurch who were skittled for just 44.
Four wickets apiece for Ben Helps and Jehangir Jehan helped Frenchay 2nds to a 164-run home defeat of their Brislington counterparts in Division Three.
And in Eight North, teenager Kalel Caswell’s return of 5-10 from six overs was the highlight of Chipping Sodbury 3rds’ three wicket victory away to Bradley Stoke & Almondsbury 5ths.
