Katy Babbage wins July Volunteer of the Month

Kings Stanley’s CC Katy Babbage has become the latest winner of the £100 Cote voucher following her nomination for the Volunteer of the Month Award for July.

Katy who joined the club in February, took on the role of secretary at a time when the club was experiencing a number of administrative issues off the field.

In that time the club has made great strides forward and she has been instrumental in the change in fortunes. On the pitch the senior side are top of their league, whilst they have increased their youth numbers by running All Stars Cricket for the first time.

Chair Gavin Dean commented:

“Kate has tackled all tasks professionally and with great dedication and the club is now on a much sounder footing for it. Kate is also playing a major role with the new youth set up as well as with our sponsors. She was even in attendance all day Saturday making the drinks and the providing after match food for the players. She absolutely deserves to be rewarded for her contribution that has helped turn our club around off the field”

Katy said:

“I am delighted to win the award, supporting Kings Stanley Cricket Club & giving back to a local community & watching it grow week on week has been fantastic”

GCF Workforce Development Officer Gareth said:

“It’s great to see Kings Stanley’s CC moving forward after a difficult period. Katy has played a major role in the club’s upturn, and she fully deserves our latest monthly award.”
