THE teams have been announced for the annual GCF Trophy challenge match between the Bristol & District and Gloucestershire leagues which will take place at Coalpit Heath on Saturday September 6.
Chris Job, of Tetbury, will captain the Gloucestershire competition which last year (pictured) overcame their rivals by seven wickets at Hawkesbury Upton to lift the silverware for the first time.
And James Copeland, of Claverham, will lead Bristol as they bid to reclaim the cup after winning it in both 2019 and then 2023 when it was relaunched following the covid disruption.
Tom Stevens, the chair of the Gloucestershire League, said: “We were very pleased to break our duck last year and will be doing our best to hang on to the trophy.”
John Peplow, his counterpart at the Bristol & District League, added: “We’re looking forward to the rematch.
“The challenge has become an important part of the club cricket calendar and an excellent way to recognise outstanding players from both ends of the county.”
The 40-overs per side match gets underway at 1pm, all welcome to attend.
