Trotman averaging 714 after his fifth straight unbeaten century!

BEN Trotman is averaging 714 after reeling off a memorable fifth successive not out century for Gloucestershire Over 50s 2nds!

The opener (pictured) marked his debut in seniors cricket with 69 which he followed up with unbeaten innings of 114, 102, 155 and 107,

And Trotman has now gone one better with 167 not out from just 129 (22 fours) to pave the way for a 129-run home victory over Suffolk in a championship last 16 clash at Shirehampton against Suffolk.

A first wicket stand of 144 with Mike Donaldson (64) put Gloucestershire on their way after losing the toss while Mike Gray (48) also lent important support as an imposing total of 331-5 was built.

Suffolk, in reply, battled to stay in the game but folded from 178-5 to 202 all out as captain Dave Millard claimed 4-12 while there was also a return of 3-40 from Paul Turner.

Gloucestershire – and Trotman – now prepare for a home quarter final against Wales on August 6 at Shirehampton.

Gloucestershire Over 60s, meanwhile, suffered a 49-run setback away to Wiltshire despite John Turton’s fine spell of 3-21, but there was a seven wicket triumph for the 60s 2nds at Lechlade over Wiltshire, skipper Steve Pennington leading the charge with figures of 4-13.

The 3rds home date with Staffordshire at Ruardean Hill was washed out after only 25 overs while the 4ths emerged seven wicket home victors at Frocester over Surrey, Phil Dickenson taking 4-26 and Pete Adams top scoring on 70.

Gloucestershire Over 70s completed an excellent 76-run home win at Stroud over Somerset.

Keith Daniels (68) and Pete Adams (66) set the tone with an opening stand of 121 while Bill Lawrence thumped an unbeaten 66 from only 36 to ensure a total of 254-3.

The visitors then came up well short against a disciplined bowling display, Geoff Eaves bagging 1-12 from nine while Rick Carmen grabbed 2-44.
