GORDON Leeks and Matt Crowther put on 138 for the second wicket as Stoke Bishop eased to a six-wicket victory away to Thornbury 3rds in Division Six of the Martin Berrill Sports Bristol & District League.
Opener Leeks’ 82 came off 67 and Crowther cracked 66 from 60 as the visitors reached their target of 177 with almost 15 overs to spare at Tockington.
Earlier, Prince Rautiyal’s unbeaten 51 helped Thornbury reach 176-7 as Greg Crichton and Leeks both took three wickets.
One other result was possible in this division, Golden Hill 4ths completing a ten-wicket home triumph against Timsbury 2nds.
The visitors were all out for 154, Russ Fry capturing 3-27 from seven, before Golden Hill romped to the points chasing a rain-reduced target with captain Sandy Fraser-Tytler unbeaten on 68.
The top three divisions were all washed out, but there was one result in Division Three with Bradley Stoke & Almondsbury 2nds trumping visiting Bitton in a 25-over contest by six wickets.
Bitton reached 141-2 thanks to unbeaten half centuries from brothers Josh and George Wilshire before the home side banked the points, captain Guy Long compiling an unbeaten 62.
On a day when sides across the Bristol area were battling to even get games on, there were three results in Division Seven East.
Brisington 3rds saw off Carsons & Mangotsfield 2nds by 76 runs while Knowle 2nds defeated Midsomer Norton Methodists by eight wickets and Saltford beat Stapleton 3rds by six wickets.
In Seven North, opener Shaun Williams’ 86 and 54 from Charlie Wells saw Coalpit Heath 2nds to a total of 202-4 at Alveston where, despite the rain, the home side chased down a reduced target to complete a three-wicket success, Muhammad Murad top scoring on 83.
Old Caths trumped Portishead 2nds by 15 runs in a rain-affected Division Seven West clash.
And in Eight East, Gunandawadu De Zoysa’s 67 helped Bristol Sri Lankans 2nds to a six-wicket home victory against Frys, Suneth Hewage and Naufel Saleem earlier bagging three wickets apiece.
