The Gloucestershire Cricket Foundation is delighted to announce a partnership with Hawkins Groundcare.
A ground care business that specialises in robotic and battery-powered lawnmowers and machinery, Hawkins Groundcare want to help make clubs more sustainable. Their range of mowers are specifically designed for the needs of cricket ground maintenance.
Chris Whincup of Hawkins Groundcare said:
“ We’re working with the Gloucester Cricket Foundation to try and help, promote to cricket clubs, particularly ways that help them save money. As well as being more sustainable and more efficient in the way that they operate. The range of Cobra Fortis cylinder motors that we offer. It’s high-quality, durable machinery at affordable prices. Particularly more affordable than the sort of traditional names that are out there.
Just ’cause they’re lower in price doesn’t mean they’re not as good. It offers ranges in petrol machines, but also in battery technology as well to help them [Cricket Clubs] operate more sustainably and cost-effectively.”
Chris and Dave from Hawkins Groundcare come from a background within the game of cricket. Both have volunteered and played at Frocester Cricket Club. Chris believes the sport is in his blood, and his love for the game has been instilled since birth.
On the partnership between Hawkins Groundcare and the GCF, Chris said:
“ It is a relationship that I think could be beneficial to both parties. We’ve got quite a large cricket background between myself and Dave. We work voluntarily, within Frocester Cricket Club as well. So it’s sort of a relationship that we’ve got established over different aspects.
I think we can offer a lot to help local clubs and the GCF.”
We thank Hawkins Groundcare for their support in our mission to put bats and balls in more people’s hands. We could not achieve this without the help of our partners.
