Winterbourne narrowed the gap to four points behind leaders Golden Hill in the Senior Division of the Bristol and District League after beating them by 86 runs.
The second-placed side made 214 after winning the toss, with Sam Bracey (78) and Sami Hamid (53) scoring the bulk of their runs with a fourth-wicket partnership of 112. Noor Oriakhail took 3-38 for Golden Hill, who were then dismissed in 36 overs with Corey Kislingbury picking up 4-21.
Sam Brewer took 5-31 as Bristol 2nds won by three wickets against Portishead, who were bowled out for 116. Bristol overhauled their target in 30.1 overs.
Third-placed Bradley Stoke & Almondsbury moved to within seven points of Golden Hill after a four-wicket win over Whitchurch. Ben Rivers snapped up 3-10 in nine overs as Whitchurch were bowled out for 141 before skipper Owen Onslow, batting at seven, smashed a quickfire unbeaten 40 to steer his side home.
Stapleton eased into the top four in the table after overcoming Coalpit Heath by 53 runs. Skipper Alfie Lewis (79) and George McEndoo (51) put on 105 for the third wicket in Stapleton’s 247-9. McEndoo then took 4-49 and Nic Tindall 3-38 as Coalpit Heath were dismissed in the 40th over. Josh Slade was their top scorer with 61, while Chris Cooke (4-41) and Jack Williams (3-36) were their most successful bowlers.
Opener Gary Pearcy made 103, but Timsbury are still looking for their first win in the First Division. Pearcy fell to the last ball of the innings as Timsbury were restricted to 169-8, a total Keynsham 2nds overhauled with four wickets and 12 balls remaining.
Danny Conway took four wickets in 21 balls without conceding a run as Bristol 3rds were bowled out for 115. Lewis Palmer was also among the wickets, picking up 3-19 for Shirehampton, who reached their target for the loss of five wickets.
Pakistani Express inflicted a first defeat on Second Division leaders Hambrook, beating them by eight wickets. Hambrook were restricted to 206-9 with Hasnain Asif taking 3-32. Irfan Omar top-scored for Hambrook with 59. Pakistani Express then knocked off the runs in 27 overs with Sayab Zulfiqar thumping an unbeaten 147 from 98 balls. He hit 18 fours and six sixes.
Second-placed Twyford House moved to within 11 points of Hambrook after beating Old Down by 99 runs. Curtis Blakemore made 86, and Ahsaan Butt 55 in Twyford House’s 287-5 before Old Down were dismissed in the 34th over. Nic Riggs was their top scorer with 58.
Thiyanan Jeganathan took 5-18 and Saundra Hennadige 3-17 as Bristol Sri Lankans bowled out Old Bristolians Westbury for 129, a total they overhauled for the loss of seven wickets.
Frenchay 2nds rushed to a nine-wicket win over Failand & Portland after dismissing them for 87 with Kevin Panagoda taking 5-16. Frenchay reached their target in the 17th over.
Kieran Gallagher (50 not out) and Tour Ponting (45 not out) steered leaders Carsons & Mongotsfield 2nds to a four-wicket win over Long Ashton after they had lost early wickets chasing Long Ashton’s all out 142. Jack Woodland claimed 4-15 for Carsons & Mangotsfield.
Sam Flowers picked up 5-35 for Backwell Flax Bourton as they beat Barrow Gurney by five wickets in the Fourth Division. Barrow Gurney were bowled out for 136, a total Backwell Flax Bourton went past at the end of the 34th over.
Tom Mathew (78) and Mithun Murali Girija (56) put on 108 for the third wicket in Bristol Aces’ 247-7, a score that was 16 too many for Chew Valley. Sineesh Syril collected 3-35 for Bristol Aces.
A rapid unbeaten 102 by Marcus Allan – he hit 12 fours and two sixes in his 74-ball innings – was the backbone of leaders Golden Hill 3rds’ 232-6. That was beyond St Mary Redcliffe, who were bowled out for 175, with Joe Baggaley Mott (3-32) and Tom Woodworth (3-43) doing much of the damage.
Mohsin Sajid made an unbeaten 100 and opener Muzammil Hussain 97 as Pak Bristolians made 261-5 against Keynsham 3rds in the Fifth Division.
They put on 167 for the second wicket to help their side to a 60-run win.
Aravind Sundar held the Bristol Eagles innings together as they chased down Dyrham & Hinton’s 193-7 in the Sixth Division. The opener made an unbeaten 66 as Bristol Eagles got home with four wickets to spare.
Unbeaten leaders Bristol New Eleven clocked up win number seven with a six-wicket victory over Golden Hill 4ths. Golden Hill were bowled out for 137 with Lishoy Xavier picking up 3-16. Skipper Salu Thomas then led Bristol New Eleven’s run charge with an innings of 67.
Backwell Flax Bourton 4ths squeezed home by two wickets with two balls remaining against Bradley Stoke & Almondsbury 6ths in the Ninth Division West. Jack Surway (35 not) and Armaan Saini (16 not) got them over the line after coming together with their side still 38 adrift of Bradley Stoke & Almondsbury’s 187-7. Owen Caherty took 4-31.
