Winchcombe captain Jack Galpin smashed the Bibury bowlers to all parts as he made his third century in five innings in Division Five of the Gloucestershire League.
Galpin made 102 from 47 balls, an innings that included 12 fours and three sixes, and he has now scored 483 runs at an average of 120.75 in his six innings in the league this season. Hugo Soars made 77, and Eddie Huggett 69 in Winchcombe’s 336-7 before Bibury were dismissed for 182 with Siddharth Shaw taking 3-30.
Jimmy Tremlow compiled an unbeaten 105 to set up Stroud 2nds’ 89-run win over Cricklade. Stroud made 205-5, but Tremlow had to share top billing with Oliver Jones, who took 6-17 as Cricklade were dismissed at the start of the 29th over.
Goodrich defeated Hatherley and Reddings 3rds by eight runs after making 183 with Chris Tookey top-scoring with 56. Ross Burbridge took 3-16 for Hatherley.
Down Hatherley are the new leaders, taking over from Hatherley and Reddings, after beating Langford by nine wickets. Philip Clarke picked up 3-28 as Langford were bowled out for 161 before Harry Kent (65 not out) and Martin Collier (59) put on 131 for the first wicket.
Just 30 overs were bowled as Frocester 2nds raced to a seven-wicket win over Cirencester in Division One. Ramearo Samuel took 5-18 and Freddie Collinson 3-8 as Cirencester were skittled for 63 in 22.2 overs before Chris Whincup hit a quickfire unbeaten 40.
Peter Smith picked up 5-21 as Cheltenham Civil Service were bowled out for 105. That left them 12 runs short of Rockhampton in a game where no batter reached 20. William Fell took 3-26 for Cheltenham Civil Service.
Mike Anderson claimed 6-36 as leaders Tetbury rushed to a nine-wicket win over Thornbury 2nds, who were bowled out for 106. Luke Ashen then smashed an unbeaten 91 from 30 balls – nine fours and eight sixes – as Tetbury reached their target at the end of the ninth over.
Kingsholm skipper Luke Bond followed up his 10-wicket haul the previous week by taking 4-24 to help his side to a narrow four-run win over Division Two basement side Redmarley, who closed on 193-8. Earlier, Andrew Green took 3-17 for Redmarley.
Leaders Gloucester AIW Sports eased to a 33-run win over Woodmancote after making 221 with Mo Jabbar top-scoring with 54. Will McNamara snapped up 3-33 before Woodmancote were dismissed with seven balls remaining. Adam Sercombe made 72.
Second-placed Dumbleton 2nds were too strong for Quedgeley & Hardwicke, beating them by 69 runs after making 290-5. Max Rouvray (78), Dan Lee (57 not) and Freddie Sharp (50) led their run charge before Arthur Kane (3-40) and Rouvray (3-44) helped dismiss Quedgeley & Hardwicke with one ball remaining, despite skipper Jake Huggins making 70. Earlier, Harry Pitcher took 3-64 for Quedgeley & Hardwicke.
Jitesh Thammisetti took 5-35, but it wasn’t enough to prevent Ullenwood Bharat from slipping to a 33-run defeat by Hatherley and Reddings 2nds. Hatherley made 179 with Kruthik Hanagavadi top-scoring with 57. He was also the star with the ball, taking 4-39 as Ullenwood were bowled out at the start of the 34th over.
Cam claimed their fourth win of the campaign, overhauling Westbury-on-Severn’s 201-9 with one wicket and eight balls to spare. Nathan Havard top-scored for Westbury with 69 and then took 4-46, but number 11 Alex Atkinson was the hero for Cam as he hit the winning boundary.
An opening partnership of 149 between Chris Downes (82) and Chris Burrow (64) set Division Three leaders Charlton Kings 2nds on their way to an eight-wicket win over Chipping Sodbury 2nds. Matt Peach made 63 for Chipping Sodbury in their 236-7 while Adam Russell took 3-33.
Kyle Swanepoel played the lead role again for Great Rissington as they enjoyed a four-wicket win over Frampton-on-Severn. The opening batter made 88 from 73 balls as Great Rissington overhauled Frampton’s 200-8 in the 37th over. Billy Curtis (58) and Dan Huxstep (50) top-scored for Frampton.
Will Trumper belted 11 fours and 10 sixes in his unbeaten 132 as Newent defeated Rockhampton 2nds by 125 runs. Opener Jack Cowles contributed 58 to Newent’s 245-8 before Ben Allard raced through Rockhampton’s top order. He took the first six wickets to fall – he finished with 6-40 – as Rockhampton were bowled out inside 26 overs. Josh Hayes chipped in with 3-26 while Brendan Hughes, batting at three, was unbeaten on 59. Earlier, Harris Dola took 3-23 for Rockhampton.
Archie Yearp and Tom Knight put on 185 for the second wicket as Shurdington made 281-7 against Fairford. Yearp led the way with 127 from 84 balls – 15 fours and six sixes – while Knight made 74. Will Hartley took 5-49 for Fairford, who closed their innings on 229-9. Tom Collister top-scored with 54.
Division Four pace-setters Kings Stanley romped to a 219-run win over Corse & Staunton 2nds with opening batter Jack Clement smashing 126 from 84 balls. His innings included 11 fours and seven sixes, and he helped his side to 326-5. Josh Gray was unbeaten on 65. Jason Huxstep then took 5-20 as Corse & Staunton were rolled over inside 25 overs.
Openers Matt Clutterbuck and Ross Wakely both made centuries as second-placed Whitminster overcame Dymock by 125 runs. Clutterbuck made 106 and Wakely an unbeaten 113 in Whitminster’s 260-2 before Cameron Randall picked up 3-16 as Dymock were dismissed in the 37th over.
Mark House, the seventh bowler used by Cinderford St John, took 5-26, but he couldn’t prevent his side from sliding to a 58-run defeat against Kingsholm 2nds.
Mark Roberts was also among the wickets – he took 4-51 – as Kingsholm made 193 with Freddie Drysdale top-scoring with 71. Daniel Adcock took 3-31 as Cinderford St John closed on 135-9.
The two teams at the bottom of Division 6A were involved in a dramatic tie with Rockhampton 3rds closing on 225-7 at Parkend. Parkend had made their score for the loss of eight wickets with opening batters Robbie Jones (70) and Tom Tremlett (52) their main contributors.
Glyn Bayley returned the eye-catching figure of 4-0 from two overs as leaders Huntley bowled out Forest Exiles for 64 in 16.4 overs. They knocked off the runs in 6.3 overs.
Division 8A leaders Tewkesbury 3rds needed just 18 balls to overhaul Dymock 2nds’ all out 31. Dymock were shot out in 21.5 overs with Louis Bichard returning 5-4 and Luke Hughes 3-8 in their side’s 10-wicket win.
