DUMBLETON are into the quarter-finals of the Voneus Village Cup for the third time in four years after easing to a seven-wicket home victory over Loddington & Mawsley.
The visitors battled their way to a total of 189-4 after losing the toss, captain James Esler top scoring on 100 not out as Ross Martin claimed 2-44 while there were also tight spells from Myles Holland (1-10 from five), George Garratt (1-18 from four) and Ollie Horne (0-29 from eight).
Dumbleton, in reply, lost two wickets in the 19th over which ended with the score at 85-3 and Loddington feeling in with a chance.

But that was as good as it got for the visitors as opener Dan Holland (pictured, 76 from 96) and Horne (70 from 55) closed out the win with an unbroken partnership of 108.
Dumbleton now prepare for a home tie in the last eight on July 20 against Bronwydd or Cuckney who clash on Sunday.
Painswick’s hopes of a dream day out at Lord’s came to an end with a six wicket home setback against Goatacre.
Luke Woolway (41) and Jon Conolly (32 not) top scored as the Gloucestershire champions totalled 203-8 at home after winning the toss.
And Goatacre then paced their reply to perfection, booking their place in the next round with seven balls to spare, opener Ross Dixie hitting 95 before falling to Jacob Moore (2-13).
CIRENCESTER booked a semi-final away to Golden Hill after breezing past Langford by 188 runs in the First Class Comms Gloucestershire Trophy.
Opener Aden Vaughan (77) and Fergus Watson (62) top scored as Ciren piled up 304-8 from their 40 while Hans Walpola then captured 4-16 from 3.5 overs to wrap up a comfortable win.
In the other half of the draw, Frampton-on-Severn host Gloucester AIW on Sunday with the winners away to Apperley.
SWINDON will host WEPL’s T20 finals day on Sunday when they get proceedings underway at 10am by facing Potterne.
Next up at 1pm it’s Tewkesbury against Midsomer Norton with the two winners going head to head at around 4pm. The champions will go through to the first national round of this ECB competition.
APPERLEY continue their defence of the ECB Girls Club T20 title with a group quarter-final visit to Frenchay on Sunday.
The winners will be away to Dumbleton or Cheltenham, who are also due to go head-to-head on Sunday.
