GOLDEN Hill 2nds moved up to second place following a third straight victory, completing a 40-run success away to Winterbourne in the Senior Division of the Martin Berrill Sports Bristol & District League.
The visitors reached 227-6 after losing the toss, Romesh Tenuwera (51) and Theo Parrett (50) starring before Andy Parkinson struck with 3-41 from nine.
Golden Hill, who have settled quickly since being promoted, are 31 points behind leaders Bath 2nds who completed a 35-run triumph away to their Downend counterparts for whom Blake Sculthorpe claimed 5-33.
Stapleton are off the bottom of the table after making it two in a row, trumping Portishead by four wickets with Josh Slade hammering an unbeaten 68.
Shirehampton, the Division Two pacesetters, held off Hampset by two wickets. Lewis Mason paved the way with 3-48 before a team effort with the bat wrapped up the spoils.
Shire are now 16 points clear of Bristol 2nds who tied with their Knowle counterparts.
Nasir Ahmadzai’s 48 helped Knowle reach 206-9 from their 40 after losing the toss away to Bristol who, in reply, were on the back foot at 122-8.
But James Warren (40) helped the home side recover, taking the game into the last over where Paul Bird hit successive boundaries off the third and four deliveries.
But a dot ball followed and Knowle conceded only one off the final delivery as the match finished all square.
Unbeaten Bedminster 3rds marched on at the top of Division Three, edging Failand & Portbury by 17 runs, Nasratullah Stanikzai taking 4-48.
Pakistani Express leap frogged Long Ashton to go second with a 203-run defeat of their rivals, opener Sayab Zulfiqar hitting 116 before Said Wahab (5-21 from seven) and Bilal Malik (4-36 from five) combined to skittle the visitors for 97.
One of the innings of the day came in Division Seven North where opener Nick Price cracked an unbeaten 157 from 107 (12 fours, ten sixes) for Bishopston 3rds in a 135-run home victory against Patchway, while in Division Eight E captain Fawas Ryan shone with an unbeaten 136 from 88 (19 fours, two sixes) for Bristol Mavericks in a 122-run success away to Whitchurch 3rds.
Riz Baig claimed 6-16 from seven for Stapleton 3rds away to Taveners in Division Seven E.
But the home side still edged their way to a low scoring one-wicket victory, opener Matt Snell top scoring with a patient and crucial 56 from 88.
